Origins of the Series
Rick Riordan first came up with the idea for the Percy Jackson series when his son, who was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, asked him to tell him bedtime stories about Greek myths. Riordan noticed that his son was highly engaged with the stories and decided to write a novel based on Greek mythology with a modern twist. Thus, the Percy Jackson series was born, and it quickly gained a dedicated following.
